personality
upon first meeting neos, one thing becomes abundantly clear: this is one who was meticulously trained to one day become a king... or at least it would seem so. having served theodric of dalry during the most critical years of his training at honor point, neos was present for all of the young successor's lessons and, in that way, received the same. it was during his years at honor point that he also calmed down significantly, coming into his own from his days of being a rebellious youth constantly at the end of a master's whip. to his own people, he is not called a king but a chieftain, a symbol of strength and is the leadership they once so desperately needed to eliminate existing vulnerabilities; for a little over two years, neos has been a unifying force for the tribes of wildlings beneath the eaves of the endless forest. he is well-loved by them, choosing not to separate himself from his people as leaders often do and instead being an active part of tribe life, often accompanying the tribe's hunters on their trips. as far as outsiders are concerned, however, tales of him are quite different. his name is often spoken in hushed tones and rarely without one of many well-earned epithets, warning away those who would otherwise venture into the dominion of the king in the wood - and to them, he is a king, because neos knows this is one of the few statuses of dominance and power respected by lesser races. if one does wander in and they are captured, it is easy to be lulled into a false sense of security despite the many glaring warning signs to not trust neos: heads on pikes, the use of bone on his armor and as weaponry, and his great white she-warg, amongst others. charming beyond measure, he has all but abolished the prior practice of outright slaughter of trespassers, instead insisting that they first be imprisoned before meeting with him for "trial." for the duration, he is very diplomatic and seemingly sympathetic to the mistakes of travellers, greeting them with all smiles and carrying himself exactly as a true king should. unfortunately, these trials are rarely genuine and are typically held for his own amusement, and just as one begins to think they may actually be the one to make it out of the wild wood alive, neos passes judgement and dishes out yet another death sentence. a feverish devout to the ideal of his people being ultimately liberated, he knows that to allow someone to go free could prove deadly for the ones he calls his own, and he is dedicated to protecting them, no matter the cost or the amount of blood on his hands.

distinguishing marks
his back, upper arms, and upper legs are riddled with old whip scars - a reminder of his years in servitude and his resolve to never again be taken captive. he also wears a few faint scars on his face and the darkened marks of ropes around his wrists
appearance
despite being a bit short even for the typically diminutive stature of halflings, neos naturally appears stoic and even intimidating due to his being blessed with dark features and a solemn default expression - a fact that he is well aware of and shamelessly uses to his advantage when need be, which can oftentimes make him appear larger than he truly is. this is increased tenfold when he is dressed for battle, due to the hard bone ornamentation of his armor and mask consisting of the front portion of a man's skull and a warg's fangs. in contrast, he is also fully capable of smiling and laughter and, when not in the presence of outsiders or attending to business matters, this is his typical demeanor. there are a few very faint scars on his face that are often overlooked unless one is paying close attention, but beneath black fabric and leather he hides the telltale marks of a defiant slave: his wrists are darkened by once-constant rope restraints, and from neck to elbow to knee, he is riddled with the years-old scarring of whips. to him, they are reminders of what could befall his people should he fail them, as well as what he took his most precious one from.
